ABOUT US
The Lumberjack
Growing up in a rural community outside Masvingo, Zimbabwe, the founder of JHB Lumberjack (Isaac Madamombe) learned the art of woodcraft from his father. Isaac’s lumberjack father taught his sons a deep respect and love for the gifts of nature – especially the indigenous African hardwoods that grace the savannas and forests of Southern Africa.
From small-scale subsistence farming in rural Zimbabwe, Isaac’s love for wood and the African legacy brought him to Johannesburg where he has worked with natural elements to create handcrafted furniture in wood and metal since 2006.
Isaac’s attention to detail combined with the focused craftmanship he learned as a child has seen his business grow and he now manufactures furniture on a commercial scale, having exported his products across Southern Africa and even as far afield as Australia, Europe and the US.
But Isaac’s vision does not stop here! His goal is to develop his business to become the biggest producer of natural wood furniture in the world.
